
Hey my name is max and i will be telling you how world war one started and what was the causes. I will be talking about the main countries who fought in the war, the reason Canada joined the war, two important battles for Canadian soldiers, two weapons/technologies used in the battles, how the lives were for the soldiers how lived in the trenches and how the war ended.
The first spark of the war was in June,28, 1914 when was assassinated in Austria-Hungary. Ferdinand was assassinated by a Serbian nationalist named Gavrilo Princip. His motive for this assassination was so Serbia can get freedom and not be under Austro-Hungary and have there own country.

The main countries that fought in the war were called the Triple Alliance and the Triple Entente. the counters who were in the Triple Alliance are Gremany,Hungry,Italy and the counters who were in the Triple Alliance were Britain,France,Russia. These are the main countries that fought in the war.

Canada joined the war because they were under Britains rules and Canada was colonized by Britain at the time. Canada also joined the war because Canada was allied with Serbia, Russia, and France.

One very important battle for Canadian soldiers is the battle of the second battle of Ypres. This battle first on April,22 and ended on May,25, 1915. There were more then 6,500 Canadians who fought in this war. The second major Canadian war was the battle of Vimy Ridge. This battle went on from April,9 to 12 in 1917. More then 10,600 Canadian fought in this war.
