The 5th Grade Class
2010-2011
The major parts of the nervous
system are the brain, the spinal cord,
and the nerves. The brain helps you
do lots of things, like move, think,
and to sense things. The spinal cord
sends messages to the brain. The
nerves help you feel when someone
touches you, and it helps you feel
cold and hot temperatures.

The Medulla controls your heart beat
and breathing. The Cerebrum
controls your thinking learning and 5
senses (sight, feel, smell, taste, and
hearing). The cerebellum controls your
movement- like walking and jumping.
The brain stem collects messages and
sends them to the brain.
The major parts of the brain are the
cerebrum, cerebellum, medulla and the brain
stem.

The Spinal Cord is a bundle of nerves that
are surrounded by vertebrate. It also carries
massages to the brain.

Nerves are the reason we can feel. Each
person has billions of nerves. If we did not
have nerves we would not have lives.
