JOHN ADAMS
- He successfully defended British soldiers that were involved in the Boston Massacre. He believed that the soldiers deserved a fair trial.
- He was a leading member of the Continental Congress. He was a representative of Massachusetts and he argued in favor of permanent separation from Britian.

John Adams played a huge role in administering the American Revolutionary War. He began serving as the head of the Board of War, which helped to administer the continental army.
John Adams helped negotiate the Treaty of Paris, which officially ended the Revolutionary War.
He was the second president of the United States. He was earlier the vice president from George Washington and later beat Thomas Jefferson and became the second president.

THOMAS JEFFERSON
Thomas wrote the Declaration of Independence. He used the famous phrase in the second line "All men are created equal."
He served as the third president and was the first secretary of state under George Washington. He was also the vice president under John Adams.

Jefferson doubled the size of the United States. He bought the entire Louisana territory from Napoleon for 15 million.
Jefferson abolished the slave trade by signing an act that said no new slaves were permitted to be imported into the United States.
He made sure that US presence was established in the Lousiana territory. This led to the expedition of Lewis and Clark.

JOHN MARSHALL
John Marshall became the fourth chief justice of the US Supreme Court in
1801 and was also the secretary of state in 1800.
Marshall became a delegate to the state convention that was created in order to ratify the United States Constitution. He also helped replace the Articles of Confederation.

He participated in the mission of the XYZ affair. He was one of the officials sent to France.
Marshall fought the case of Marbury vs Madison, which was his first major case which established the case of judicial review.
He played a role in determining the Supreme Court's role in federal government in order to establish its authority.

JAMES MADISON
James Madison directed the Philadelphia Convention towards forming a new constitution instead of the Articles of Confederation.
Madison drafted the Virginia Plan which called for the number of votes each state received in Congress to be based on population.

James Madison is considered the Father of the Constitution because he helped negotiate and ratify the Constitution.
He drafted the Bill of Rights which later became the first 10 amendments of the Constitution.
Madison served as the fourth president of the US and was in competition with James Monroe and George Clinton.
