This children's picture book tells the story of a child's typical day. It has incorporated four cognitive and four language development milestones for Toddlers (1 to 3 years). The story is based on a fictional child Robert Downey Jr.


Getting Dressed
Robert wakes up and wants to try getting dressed all by himself. He dresses himself in basic attire such as pull on pants, slip on shoes. His mom lays out clothes for him that makes it easier for him to choose. The pull-on styles does not have difficult zippers or buttons. By dressing, Robert is learning essential skills and independence.
Feeding Himself
Robert insists on feeding himself sending carrots and peas everywhere. He feeds himself with spoon and fork drinking from a regular cup. He also refuses his dinner sometimes. Robert's mom disguises veggies and fruits by mixing broccoli into Robert's mac 'n' cheese and replaces the jelly in PB&J sandwich with banana or apple slices. This way Robert's mother makes mealtime fun and easy with finger foods like kebabs.


Potty Training
Robert has been potty trained by his parents. He expresses interest in using the bathroom. He independently goes for potty.
Making Friends
Robert is willing and ready to make new friends and arranges small regular group of peers. They engage in parallel play. He does puzzles with three or four pieces, make-believe with dolls, animals and people. Robert even uses his imagination to create stories and tells it to his friends







Language Development
Robert says his name and age. He can speak 250 to 500 words and answers simple question like who does he loves more. He also speaks clearly and tells stories to his friends.
Sound Sleep
Robert takes a nap. He sleeps when he gets tired. At bedtime, Robert stall to exercise control even when his eyes droop shut. His father reads him before bed everyday that makes him feel valued and more willing to climb into bed.
