In this story we will learn about Cell cycle!

Hello Ms. Walaa how are you?

Hello Baraa!
I'm fine

Yes, that's right! let's go to my office and talk about it.

I have a question?
Is it right that all the cells in our bodies (except the brain) replace every seven years?? How?

What is cell cycle?

All the cells in our bodies (except the brain) replaced every seven years by using cell cycle.

The cell cycle is a cycle of stages that cells pass through to allow them to divide and produce new cells. Our bodies have 37.2 trillion or more cells. There are three main stages in cell cycle:
Interphase, Mitosis, and Cytokinesis.

Hmm, what's happening during the first stage?

The first stage is the Interphase. In Interphase, there are three phases: G1(gap 1), S (synthesis) and G2 (Gap 2).
In G1= All the organelles and cytoplasmic replicate.
In S= The DNA replicates.
In G 2= The cell will continue growing to fit all new replicated.
Also, cells spend most of their time in this stage

What about all the others stages!?

Okay, sorry Ms. Walaa, I will be patient.

Calm down, Baraa!
I will explain everything to you.

After Interphase, we have Mitosis. This is the part of cell cycle when the cell divides.
There are four phases in Mitosis
Prophase, Metaphase, Anaphase, and Telophase.
Let's look at this book to make it easy for you to understand.

How do I remember all those phases?

Just Remember PMAT!

What is PMAT?
This is the easiest way to remember the phases of Mitosis.
JUST REMEMBER PMAT!
Prophase, Metaphase, Anaphase and Terophase

Wow! this is an amazing way to remember the phases of Mitosis,
Thank you.

Also, there is another easy way to remember what happens in each phases, I will tell you about it later. For now, let's take a look at this book. It will tell you about the phases of Mitosis.

Prophase
Humans bodies have 46 chromosomes in each cell. In Prophase, each chromosome consists of two chromatids (two copies) that are held together at a centromere.
The long strands of DNA condense to become visible chromosomes.
The nuclear membrane envelope breaks down.

Chromosomes
Nuclear membrane

Why does the nuclear membrane breaks down?

The nuclear membrane needs to breaks down to allow the chromosomes to have enough room to organize themselves around the cell.

Metaphase
In metaphase, all of the chromosomes line up in the middle of the cell.
This movement is controlled by special spindle fibers.
