Once in a small classroom, a young girl named Alex fell asleep during a science lesson. The students were learning about the history of The Cell Theory.

"Oh no! I fell asleep in class again and missed a whole day's worth of notes and I have a quiz tomorrow. What do I do?"

The school day had ended and there was nobody else left in the building. Nobody to help her learn. Or so she thought.

Hello Alex! We're the steps of the cell theory and we're here to teach you all about cell theory and it's origins. So, would you like to come with us?

Soon Alex was whisked away with the numbers who, in order to teach her, demanded she get a good nights sleep while they traveled.

Our first stop is Robert Hooke! He was the first scientist who viewed cells in cork! He also was responsible for coining the term "cell" in 1665.

This is Robert Brown. He is known for being the first person to view a cell's nucleus in 1828.

Next up is Matthias Schleiden who was the first scientist to determine that all plants are made of cells in 1838.

Following Schleiden, Theodore Schwann became the first to determine that all animals were also made up of cells in 1838.

After those two, the next, and final, discovery broke when Rudolph Virchow determined that cells come from other cells in 1858.

Wow! They multiply!

All those scientists and their discoveries led to the creation of "The Cell Theory".

The Cell Theory states that Cells are the basic units of structure and organization in all organisms.
