This book is dedicated to my Digital Learning class!

To begin with, we looked through the Science curriculum and read the strand about 'Heat'

This is what
the curriculum
looks
like!

We then read about a character called 'Guzzler' who was having trouble keeping his hot chocolate warm. He wanted to find out which material would make the best sleeve to keep his drink warm....
LET'S INVESTIGATE!

The materials we investigated were...
- -tinfoil
- -felt
- -bubble wrap
- -kitchen paper
- -cloth

We predicted that tinfoil would be the best insulator!

Here are our 6 cups. We didn't put any material around the last cup. This cup was our control. It is very important to have a control so that you have something to compare your results to in the end.
We then began to investigate!
To ensure it was a fair investigation, we used a measuring jug and a
graduated cylinder to
ensure we poured the exact
same amount of hot water
in to each of the cups.

We used a thermometer and recorded that the starting temperature of each of the cups was 44 degrees celsius.
