Geography is the study of the earth and everything in it. It has 5 themes. They are location, place, human-environmental interaction, movement, and region.

There are 2 types of LOCATION: Absolute and Relative. Absolute is an exact location on the globe with latitude and longitude or a street address. For example, 123 Main St is an absolute location.

Relative location is a general area where someone or something can be described or found.
For example, over by Timmy's house is a relative location.
Another theme of Geography is Human-Environmental Interaction. We adapt to our environment by wearing a coat when it's cold.

We modify the environment when we rake leaves.

We depend on the environment when we use the soil for growing food.

Another theme of Geography is Movement. People move by using transportation.
The movement of goods is also part of Geography. We move goods by highways, ships, trains, and airplanes.

Another part of Geography is how ideas and information move and how people communicate.
