Today is the first day to sign up for clubs at Unicorn Elementary School!

Unfortunately, I am not part of a club and that's what makes me different.

I am Isabella. I am very shy

and I don't have as many friends as others.

I only have two friends. They told me that joining a club would help me with my shyness.

I love having Mrs. Jane. She's the best counselor.

Mrs. Jane is my counselor, and I always go to her when I need someone to talk to.

Mrs. Jane convinced me to join a club.

The next day, I saw all the different clubs to join.

"The dance club

was the one that

sparked the most

interest in me"!

The moment I approached

the table, my shyness

appeared.

Am I really doing this? I thought.

However, I was able to walk up and say 

“Hello, my name is Isabella 

and I’m interested in joining the dance club”. 

Hello my name is Isabella.

Unfortunately, I was given pamphlets which would guide me to prepare for the auditions. My fear began to appear again.

I exited the auditorium questioning whether I was brave enough to audition. Then a young girl, having seen my reaction, came over and asked me what was wrong.

I had no idea what to say, I had just imagined myself in a bubble, trying to ignore everything that was occurring around me.

Hello.

“My name is Julia. Is there

something wrong? Perhaps I

can help you?” She told me that

she would help me

prepare for my dance audition.

My name is Julia. How can I help you.

As the auditions approached, we were getting closer with only two days remaining. 

Julia and I practiced.

Practice makes perfect, said Julia.

 I started to feel more comfortable with Julia. She had figured out what the perfect dance technique for me was.

"Always look in the direction of the mirror it will keep you focused",

said Julia.

Now Isabella, you are going to follow my footsteps as we move

to the beat of the music.
