Harriet Jacobs,born a slave, grew into a brave, daring woman who fought for her freedom even when it was hard. She grew up with no parents and was raised by her grandmother.
At a young age, she began to jump from slave owner to slave owner and faced cruel treatment.
As the years go by, Harriet becomes tired and angry at the treatment she and thousands of others are facing; She starts to construct a plan to escape and although she fails at first finally figures out the perfect plan.
One night, she had enough of the cruel treatment and escaped. She left through the window of her master's house and thus the fight for her freedom begun.
Harriet dreamed of going to the North, where all is believed to be free. The dream became a reality when an opportunity arose to leave on a ship! Harriet created a false identity and successfully left abroad.
Harriet arrived where she was finally free and can do anything a free man can, get a job and walk through the streets as she pleases but then harsh reality hit.
