Welcome to Early Childhood !

Hi, my name is Jaelyn Howell.

From 12/13 to 12/18 I have been in Early Childhood seeing how the teacher work with the children and learning all about the shop.

Going to this shop everyday we got to see how days went with the children being there and it just being the teachers, we worked on a packet and researched different things about the show.

We learned about how much different teachers make and what degrees you need to have to be a certain teacher. We also learned about the different characteristics you need and should have if you want to become a teacher.

One tool we had to learn about that was VERY important when working with kids was PATINCES, working with younger kids is harder than working with high schoolers because they are still finding themselves and learning how to act in a school enviornment and they all aren't going to learn the same and at the same speed.

I feel like I can use the things I learned there for my younger siblings at home, I am usually really good with them but now I know different ways to handle things. Also how PreK isn't just about playing and I feel like I am not the only person who thought that but its about much more than just that.

Now going through this show we really didn't get to have a hands on experience we just worked through a packet so just watching it does make me want to see what else that show could offer but not being able to really see what happens in the show does make it go down for my pick.
