The fish-man from Liérganes
One day, Francisco went swimming with some friends at Miera. He entered the water and swam downstream, until he lost sight of him. Five years later, in 1679, while some fishermen worked in the Bay of Cádiz, a strange aquatic being appeared to them, with a human appearance. When they put him on deck, they saw with astonishment that the strange being was a young, big man, with a pale complexion and reddish, thin hair; the only peculiarities were a tape of scales that descended from the throat to the stomach and another that covered the entire spine.
