Chapter 1
Unit 1

Synopsis
In unit 1 I learned about proper etiquette in different ways of communication. The proper etiquette that I learned about was how to speak properly when on the phone and how to send an email correctly. Proper etiquette was one of the main ideas in this unit but another important idea was the different forms of communication that included verbal, non-verbal, written, and visual. I also learned how customer relations affect a business. The 7 C’s are a big factor in this unit as well. It includes being clear, concise, concrete, correct, coherent, complete, and courteous. This unit is about how you should present yourself so that you leave a good impression with your business relations.
Reflection
There was an assignment in week 3 where we had to listen to a podcast about proper etiquette when communicating. It said that the best way to be heard and understood is to use the 7 C’s. Using the 7 C’s will allow the person who you are communicating with to understand everything you are informing them about. It will help you with your customer relations as well. Being able to speak to a business partner or employee with a more clear communication will let them know what it is you are trying to tell them. I also learned about how it can benefit you when you are looking for a career.
Application
When looking for a job, you can use this information to help you look more presentable. If you can be better with the way you convey yourself. This will let your employer know that you can be a possible asset to the company. Even if you are the employer you will now have a guide on what to look for when going through the hiring process. You will know what way to communicate certain information to your co-workers and employers depending on the urgency of the message.
Chapter 2
Unit 2

Synopsis
The objective of this unit was for us to get informed on what Information Management is about. There are four main ideas that fall under Information Management and they are Planning, Organizing, Coordinating, and Monitoring of information. These main ideas are supposed to help you understand how to manage information so you can be as efficient and effective as possible in the workplace. There are also three steps you must take to manage information. Step one is to collect the info step two us planning and organizing step three is maintaining and monitoring the information. All of these topics that we went over in this unit will allow us to become better employees or employers when it comes to information management.
Reflection
Planning is the process of thinking and deciding what strategies you can use to complete the task at hand. When you plan it allows you to think things through and allows less room for error. Organizing helps a person become more reliable because you will have everything planned out. Having this skill lets employers know you are a more structured individual who knows how to prioritize the tasks that are given to him/her. Coordinating is also needed after you have mastered the skill of organization. Once you’ve gathered all the information you need it will be useful for you to know how to coordinate because it causes you to use all your efforts and resources and take action on what it is you’ve got to do. After coordinating your information wisley it’s imperative that you are able to monitor your information in order to learn what works and what doesn’t.
Application
Information Management is something that anyone can apply to their life to improve it in numerous ways. Being organized with your own life allows you to find the information you need much more quickly. If you are able to organize your school work and then coordinate how you can complete it that’ll lead to a better use of your time. Monitoring the way you spend your time doing school work can lead to increased grades since you are using time to observe the things you’re doing right and what you aren’t doing right. The more you observe the more bad habits you can start getting rid of in your life. Adding this routine into your school work will work very well for anyone who seeks to improve their grades in school.
Chapter 3
Unit 3

Synopsis
The main idea idea behind Unit 3 was for us to learn more about professional development. Professional Development is the idea that by understanding yourself better it will allow you to better understand what it is you want to do professionally in your career but it also deals with how you should act in certain situations. We watched a Ted Talk on professional development to help us better understand what it really is and what the pros of adding professional development into your life could be. In conclusion this is something that I believe everyone should do because there is no downside to it.
Reflection
Throughout this unit there were many different assignments we had to do that has helped me better understand what professional development is. Last week I watched the Ted Talk I thought that professional development could only be used when you were at work when you already had a career. It turns out that professional development is quite useful before you begin a career because it can even help you determine what type of career path you would want to take and even makes you think about what steps you need to take to reach your goal of working in whatever field it is that you want to work in.
Application
What I know now about professional development can help me with my life and many other people's lives. Thinking about this kind of stuff early on will allow you to make decisions and set goals for the future. In order to set those goals you have to have an idea of what it is you want to do in life. This doesn't have to be concrete because plans can always change but that is all apart of the journey. Making goals early on will force you to stay on track with committing to developing yourself. This method of planning is especially great for younger people since it allows them to actually start thinking about their future and what steps they'll need to take to get there.
Unit 4
Chapter 4
Synopsis
The primary focus of unit four is to inform us on how a business is managed and operated. It goes over specific categories such as Business Operations and the management of those operations. The management part of this unit focuses on the ability to plan, organize, coordinate and monitor. In order to know what the purpose of a Business Operation is you will first need to understand what the Goal of a Business Operation is. That is where this unit dives in deeper into the Five Components of a Business Operation. These components break down the necessary information you will need to gather in order for a company to begin creating a business operation. All of this ties in to the previous units we’ve learned about that have to do with time management and business management. Once you’ve been able to understand those previous units this unit helps you see how they all work with each other to create a successful business.
Reflection
What I have been able to take away from this unit is that Business Operations are a major key to a business's success. Business Operations is the work of managing the inner workings of your business so it can run as best as possible. Management is being able to plan, organize, coordinate and monitor. In order to handle Business Operations Management you must be able to monitor, evaluate, and streamlining organizational process to increase the efficient production or delivery of goods and services. It’s a system that gives employees instructions on how to complete a task the way a business wants it to be done. The main goals of business operations management is to make the process of something more efficient, maximize quality and productivity, to operate smoothly, to satisfy customers, to grow the business, and of course to make money.
Application
This method of completing tasks will be useful to those who need help or guidance when performing an activity. Many businesses can help prevent injuries or problems in the workplace just by having a good Business Management Operations team. This group of people will analyze information about the business and look for places where they can improve upon. This could lead to a reduction in time that a task would take to complete. Another way it could help is in a workplace where the equipment being used is dangerous so having a system that everyone follows could lead to a reduction in injuries and a safer working environment.
