From researching Helen Keller, I have realized that not all heroes have powers, and even with disadvantages life can still be lived to the fullest. I hope that young people feel inspired after reading this book, to go out into the world and make a meaningful difference in their peers and everyone around them.
Preface:

Helen Keller is a very influential and modern day hero for many people around the world. With her talents she affected the world in many positive ways. Helen Adams Keller was born June 27, 1880, in Tuscumbia Alabama. She was born with senses of sight and hearing. Later on in her life she contracted an illness called “Brain fever”, which is a medical condition where your brain becomes inflamed and causes symptoms like a fever. Brain fever is commonly caused by a viral infection.

Helen Keller faced many challenges. She lost her sense of sight and hearing at the age of only 19 months. Which made her childhood quite challenging and frustrating. Helen had a limited method of communication. She invented a sort of sign language to communicate with people. As she grew up she became very wild and unruly. Helen Keller learned to communicate and wanted to advance in her life and further her education.

Keller became inspired by her teacher Anne Sulivan. With her help she eventually learned to spell with her fingers. Her frustration later grew from not being able to understand people. Though she became determined to attend college. Helen now began to tackle political issues.
