This is for all the beautiful children

The Portuguese men first stepped foot in Brazil in the 1500's .

But the Portuguese didn't see anything good so they left .

They knew people lived there but, it wasn't an eye catcher. They did think the way they lived and women were interesting.
The people who lived there were called the Tupi.

The Tupi people were semi-sedentary so they never settled down to start a civilization.
The Tupi valued Brazil wood tree and had a lot of land to keep going around.

That's when the Portuguese realized they wanted their land.
The king sent Portuguese men to live there.

These new settlers would try to take the land and to plant the crops
The main crop was Sugarcane since it was very efficient during that time
