Global warming

Sometimes it’s all about magic!

           The Sun was about to rise. It was going to be a hot summer day. The day was going to become a real adventure for the 3 friends Anna, Lily and Leo. Anna had still kept in a tiny box some magic dust, from their previous adventure story. They decided to use it to fly around the World today and learn all about climate changes. Today was going to be about Global Warming.

So, the 3 friends spread magic dust all over them and flew above the World. They could see the causes of the global warming: increased concentrations of greenhouses gases in the atmosphere, mainly from human activities such as burning fossil fuels, deforestation and farming. So, Anna explained her friends:

When people burn out fossil fuels like coal, oil and gas to create electricity and power our cars, we release CO2 pollution in the atmosphere. Deforestation means that people remove or burn out vegetation, and the stored carbon is released back into the atmosphere as CO2. Also, by farming we mean animals that produce methane, a greenhouse gas.” Anna explained to her friends.

“Listen, Anna”, Lily said “I think I can tell you what the effects of global warming are upon our Earth. I think this greenhouse gases affects the natural environment, the ecosystems. The effects are extreme weather events, glacier retreat, sea level rises, declines in Arctic sea ice extent, changes in the timing of seasonal events, drought. Global warming is about long-term rise of the average temperature on Earth. I believe we, people should be aware of this major issue that might influence life on Earth from now on.”

“Heeeey, I know” Leo said “I know what we can do. I still have magic dust. We can spread the dust around the world and transform these into good things. The solutions are here, we just have to take action.

We can all reduce the amount of electricity generated by coal and gas and we can use renewable sources like solar and wind. We can prevent deforestation and plant trees and we can shop sustainably. Also, we can use different stock feeds that can help reduce the farming’s contribution to global warming. What do you say, friends? Shall we do it?”

“Yeees” the 3 friends said all together. So they flew around the world, spreading magic dust. The magic dust made people all over aware of the global warming and they started to contribute to make the World a better and safer place to live in.

So, sometimes it’s all about magic!

Their mouths opened wider and wider to sing the song of change:

“Hear me out, I will be quick,

Little by little, does the trick.”

OUR ANIMALS

There were 3 close friends in a city. These were Anna Lily and Leo. Anna said one day, "Friends, I think we should go to a camp tomorrow and examine the nature in this camp. What do you say? 

Lily:It sounds good. I want to go to the camp nowadays. Leo: Sounds nice, too 

Anna: Okay, so we're leaving for tomorrow morning 

 Leo:Okay. Let's go to our homes and rest. we must be very energetic tomorrow. 

Lily: Okay, let's go home.  

Tomorrow morning 

Anna: We finally reached our camp.

Leo: Yeah I think it's beautiful here. 

Lily: Let him do it, but our main purpose is to study prayer. So let's start. They began to study nature. 

Anna: Look at this, it's a bird and it's gum sticks. 

Leo: We have to help, it is very difficult. 

They took the gum sticking to its beak.

Lily: We finally got it. But many birds die because of this, we need to find a solution.

Anna: Let's think a little bit.

Leo: I have an idea. A conference to tell people what happened, and we can warn everyone to throw the chewing gum on the floor and throw it away. 

Lily: Great idea, let's organize the conference tomorrow, Anna? 

Anna: I think it's a good idea Let's go home. They arrange for the conference tomorrow. They warn people about animal protection.

OUR FOREST

ANNA, LILY and Leo are three trees very close together!

Anna is the most daring, Lily the most beautiful and Leo the smartest.

Anna Lily and Leo live in a large garden, surrounded by many animal and plant friends.

One day, Ferhat was walking around and heard:

Anna: Psst, do you want to talk to us for a while?

Ferhat: but who's talking to me?

Anna: it's me, the most daring tree! You know, I've been here for many years and I like to talk.

I introduce you to my companions: Lily and Leo.

Lily: Hi Ferhat!

Leo: Hi!

Leo: The good weather has started and I'm starting to get worried. People will start picnicking, light fires and there may be a fire.

Lily: I hate smelling like smoke and I don't want to get burned.

Anna: Ferhat, we are counting on you, if you see a fire let the firefighters know! We can't get out of here.

Leo: We are very important, we absorb carbon dioxide and release oxygen.

Lily: We create shade, beautify the city ...

Anna: We provide shelter for animals and food for various species

Ferhat: Rest assured, my eyes will be wide open and attentive.

Their mouths opened wider and wider to sing the song of change:

OUR AIR

It was a beautiful bright summer morning full of purity of freshness. The whole earth was brimming sunshine that morning, the clear sky with a few white, fleecy clouds drifting lazily across it was pouring liquid blue into her soul. The air was filled with the sweetest humming of the bees and the most wonderful birds’ songs.

Anna was standing at the open window of her bedroom enjoying the marvelous view of the dewy meadow touched with the sun-smile. She could hear the lovely running of the crystal water of the river passing in a near distance. She took a deep breath of fresh air and felt full of energy. 

"Everything is made out of Magic, leaves and trees, flowers and birds, animals and insects, sun and sky, soil, water and air!” she whispered to herself.

 “Hey, Lily, Leo! Good morning! It’s such a lovely start of the day!” Anna said cheerfully. “I have a great idea! What about going to the forest today and make a picnic there?” 

“Oh, yes! That’s a brilliant idea! Let’s wake up Leo. We will have a good time together in the nature!” Lily replied with excitement.  

The three friends took their rucksacks quickly and hit the road. On their way to the forest it was joyful to hear the merry whistle of blackbirds, chattering jays and loud wood-pigeons, grasshoppers clicking and the measured tapping of Nature's carpenter, the great green woodpecker.

After a while they reached the lawn but nothing was the same as they remember the place. There was a moment of silence. Smoke could be detected for a distance of two to three miles. The three kids were totally shocked to see dead flowers, trees and birds everywhere.

“How is that possible? I can’t believe my eyes! It’s horrible!” Leo exclaimed.

Suddenly Leo saw a big factory. This was a coal factory. A thick cloud of black smoke was coming out from its chimney. The smell was disgusting and it was hard for them to breath.

"Oh, no! The animals and the plants are suffocating and dying out because of that poisonous smoke. Without the trees there would be so much pollution in the air. They provide us with clean fresh air“ Anna exclaimed.

Lily grew really upset. "People must stop building more factories which pollute our air and be aware about our nature. We have to do something and stop this! I know this area is protected by the Law and many species are endangered, so they couldn’t be put on risk. I will call the police and the mayor.”

“Yes, we have to inform the Government and the Ministry of Environment to close down the factory. We will do something good for the future of our planet! People have to stop being reckless!" Anna added.
