The Animal Kingdom
There are many different kinds of animals, including mammals, birds, insects, reptiles, and amphibians. We are even mammals!
Animals can be vertebrates and invertebrates.
Vertebrates have backbones, and invertebrates do not. We are vertebrates!

The Plant Kingdom
Plants are another species that have their own kingdom! They can make their own food, using photosynthesis, which uses air, water, and sunlight to make their own food.

Eubacteria
Bacteria are another organism that has their own kingdom. All bacteria is not bad! There are good bacteria and bad bacteria.
An example of good bacteria is the bacteria that is used to help you digest your own food.
Bacteria make copies of themselves by splitting in half.
Archaebacteria
Archaebacteria is a special kind of bacteria that exist where no other living things can.
Thermophiles can survive in extremely hot places!
Halophiles can live in very salty places.
Fungi
It may not look like it, but fungi are related to plants and animals. Mushrooms are fungi, not plants. They can not make their own food so they use enzymes to break down decaying organisms, and use that as their food.
Fungi are super important and are nature's cleaners, because it gets rid of dead plants and animals to make room for new ones.

Protista
Protista are a kingdom made up of simple eukaryotic organisms. These are made of one cell, or a group of similar cells.
Protists usually live in water, so an example would be algae.
