Similar to constructivism, it is a student is a student-centred learning theory that mainly focuses on the technology in the learning process.



In constructionism, technology should not only be used to present information to students. Instead, it should be used to help students do problem-solving or complete tasks.

When it comes to learning, students should make their own choices as they are creating their own artifacts that represent their knowledge

Today, you guys are going to create a video game based on what you have learned...


At the heart of constructionism building experience helps students learn by building projects.
Students will learn a concept and create a project around the concept of learning. They will create steps, utilize resources based on how they want to represent their knowledge.


Examples of Constructionism
GameWerks- A summer camp for middle and high schoolers. The students are required to create an educational video game.
Digital Media Camp- A three day camp for elementary and middle school kids. It is designed to give the kids a chance to create media.

At the end of Digital Media camp, the kids will showcase their projects to show what they have learned and created.
Markerspace- This is a new movement that encourages constructionism. This is an open-ended environment that features various tools and technology.
