in order to create the perfect country for their people.

















The Americans had once gotten along with the Wampanoag
tribe, forming a steady trading relationship. However, they had
become dependent on English goods. sovereignty. War
eventually broke out between the New England settlers and the
Indians. Inevitably, the Wampanoags lost after the Mohawk
Indians sided with the Americans. This was called King Philip's
War after the chief of the Wampanoag tribe whose head was
hung on a stick as a warning to rebellious Indians.

With all this new land, America's size nearly doubled and the white men
became more eager to explore the unknown, which was inhabited by
many Indian tribes.
