Lauren Daigle was raised in Lafayette, Louisiana with her mother, father, brother, and sister.

As a kid, she was influenced by cajun music and the blues. Louisiana is in the area where blues music was created. With frequent visits to New Orleans she loved the soulful jazz that she was surrounded by.

At age 15, Lauren was faced with a two year quarantine as a result of cytomegalovirus. She was isolated from social interaction at school and extracurriculars as a teenager just beginning to make those things mean something.

In light of the challenging circumstances, Lauren's mom decided Lauren needed something to keep her busy and productive. So Lauren began singing lessons.
The cytomegalovirus (CMV), is an auto immune disease. This means that the cells that help to fight sicknesses, fight your good cells instead.

While Lauren's immune system was weak, she could not risk getting sick from other people because her body would be much less able to fight it.
The risk of being exposed to sicknesses was what kept Lauren Daigle inside for two years. Her whole world became her singing and her music.

So this began Luaren Daigle's great journey. She wanted to be a singer.

In pursuit of that, Lauren went on to try out on American Idol. Her first year she made it to the last 24 before she was cut. On her second try she didn't make it in.

Lauren Daigle's third year on American Idol was in 2012. She again, made it to Las Vegas before she was cut.
After being turned down several times in Hollywood, Lauren moved on to Louisiana State University (LSU). While attending this school she was asked to help with the background vocals for a local band's demo album.
Her vocals caught the attention of the record label, Centricity Music whose artists include other major christian-contemporary artists. In 2013 she was signed as a solo artist.

While all of this was happening, Lauren decided to move to Nashville, Tennessee to write music. In 2015 she released her first album, "How Can It Be".

The "How Can It Be" album became No. 1 on Billboard's Chistian Albums. The album and the song became a hit throughout the entire community.
The album didn't stop there. It then became Gold Record and a certified platinum album. The following year, the album was nominated for Grammys, Doves, and K-LOVE Awards.

Dove Awards
Lauren Daigle won Dove Song of the Year for "How Can It Be". She also won Dove New Artist of the Year. The album was also nominated for Grammys Best Contemporary Christian Music Album.
Following her booming success she went to work on another album. In 2018 "Look Up Child" was released. This album spoke of struggles and doubts. But also of hope and certainty.
#5 on the album, the song "You Say" became No. 3 in billboards above Drake, Ariana Grande, Cardi B and others. She sings of troubles and everyone relates to troubles. With this song and this album she was able to reach beyond the christian music community.
Her lyrics spoke of the lies that many people find themselves believing about their worth. "The lies that tell me I will never measure up". She defies these thoughts with the word of God and shines a light of the truth to the world.
This time, her song was not only nominated for the Grammys, Best Contemporary Christian Music Song, but it won the award as well. The "Look up Child" album won Grammy award Best Contemporary Christian Music Song.
