As a little kid, Jackie grew up in a small town in
Cairo, Georgia. After spending a year here; Jackie
and his family hopped on a train and headed to Los
Angeles.









When Jackie moved he didn't really fit into
any group of friends. He started hanging out
with gangs and doing the wrong things. He
didn't care, just as long as he had friends.
Street Gang."

Soon he found out that sports were
something he was good at. Jackie was so good
at football. Little did he know things were
going to change for the better.

South Carolina.

"I think I want to play baseball," Jackie said
one day. He found out that he was really good.
He was chosen as the most valuable junior
college player.

His dad gets in a terrible accident and
passes away from his injuries. Since Jackie
spent most of his time with his dad, he decides
to put his energy towards school.



Jackie starts to get tired of school and he
drops out. He thinks by joining the army he
will forget about all his problems. So that's
what he does.

1942.

One day a man came up to Robinson and
asked if he wanted to play on his baseball
team. Jackie took up that offer and was soon
on his way to success.





Jackie was soon hired to play shortstop. He
played for a team called the Kansas City
Monarchs for the Negro League. Jackie loved
his team and was starting his career out good.
