In the beginning, there were two polliwogs named Herman and Hermany. They were brother and sister. Hermany tells her brother Herman,
"Herman I wish I could swim like you."
Herman feels bad, he wishes he could convince his little sister that she is strong and can do anything she puts her mind to.
Herman was the strong one in the family and seems to win at everything he sets before him.
Hermany was the sweet little girl, but wanted to show everyone that she was equally as strong as her brother Herman.
Herman tells Hermany," Hermany, you are very strong, and will become a strong swimmer."
Boys and girls enter a yearly race, however, no one could swim really fast.
Hermany wanted to race, but did not think she could be as fast as the others, especially her brother. "Herman I want to enter the race" Hermany tells Herman, but I do not think I am as fast as the other boys and girls, especially you.
Herman feels bad for Hermany. He tells her, "Listen Hermany, I can help you become a better swimmer, but Hermany is very small and does not believe in herself.
Polliwogs could swim, but at this time they cannot swim very fast. Then, Herman comes home everyday and helps Hermany practice.
First, Hermany and Herman go to the local pond and practice swimming.
Then, Herman notices that Hermany is becoming faster and beginning to wiggle her tail in the pond.
Finally, Herman asks, "Hermany, how are you moving your tail so fast?" Hermany says, "I don't know, it just moves fast when I swim a lot and push myself.
Everyday, Herman and Hermany swim faster and both of them begin to wiggle their tails.
On race day, Herman and Hermany race to the finish line as 1st and 2nd place winners!.
Hermany won with Herman following in 2nd place. Herman looks at Hermany and tells her "Good job lil' sis I taught you well!,"
All of the boys and girls are amazed at Hermany swimming so fast.
They shouted, "Hey, can you show us how you wiggle so fast?
In the end, Herman and Hermany, were happy to teach the boys and girls, and that is why today polliwogs wiggle.
