When the world was falling apart one man stepped up and changed the course of history. His name was Winston Churchill.

Winston Churchill was the British Prime Minister during WW2. The day he took this position Germany had invaded his allies in France, Belgium, and the Netherlands.

As the world feared the threat of a German empire, Churchill stayed optimistic. He gave speeches to the British people to give them hope.

When the Battle of Britain began, the British people were ready to give up. Bombs fell over their homes each night, but Churchill never backed down to Germany.

British Parliament pressured Churchill to make peace with Germany, but he knew this would be the downfall of the world.

In August 1940, the Germans started bombing the British airfields. They started losing troops and aircrafts quickly.

Churchill sent a counter attack on Germany. He ordered a bombing raid on Berlin, the capital of Germany, that provoked a retaliation.

On September 7, 1940, British troops picked up radar signals of nearly 1,000 German aircrafts flying toward London. The British didn't have the firepower to stop this attack, and Churchill knew they were on the ropes.

Many British lives were lost on September 7, and it seemed like Germany was going to begin their invasion on Britain.
