In second grade, we’ve been learning how words and phrases supply rhythm and meaning in a story, poem, or song. We looked at many different mentor texts to see how writers use regular beats, rhymes, repeated lines and alliteration to make their writing more interesting. One of our favorite books was A My Name is Alice by Jane Bayer. In this book, the author uses alliteration and lines that repeat on each page. Alliteration is when the same sound is repeated at the beginning of words that are close together. Since we enjoyed the book and loved how alliteration sounds, we decided to write our own book using the same pattern. In addition to the writing, we each created a picture to go along with our alliterations. We hope you enjoy our book!Add a description for this book...
