1. Prometheus is a minor god and a titan.

2. His parents were Iapetos (father) and Klymene 

(mother).

3. He had a brother named Epimetheus which was 

the dumbest titan.

4. He had no wives.

5. His name meant forethought, and he could 

foretell the future.

6. He was thoughtful and was very courageous.

Eventually the humans started fighting with each other. 

Zeus got very disappointed with mankind and he never 

gave them the gift of fire. Without fire humans could not 

get warmth or cook food and would eventually die.

That angered Prometheus so he made a plan 

to steal a lightning bolt from zeus and give it 

to the humans. 

But very quickly zeus 

found out, and he was very 

angry at Prometheus.

As a punishment, Zeus chained 

Prometheus to a boulder on Mont 

Kaukasos, he also sent a vulture 

to eat his regenerative liver every 

day.
