It was Saturday morning, and Sadie woke up her mom bright and early as always.
"It's time to go to the park!" she barked.

Sadie was so excited to get to the park, she could barely sit still on the car ride over.

She wagged her tail and stuck her head out the window to say hello to the other cars passing by.
When they finally arrived, Sadie hopped right out of the car and ran to the entrance. She was so excited to see all her friends.

But when she got inside, there was no one else there.
Sadie sniffed around for awhile, thinking that her friends would show up any minute.

Finally, Sadie saw another dog and their owner walking towards the park, and she ran right up to them to say hello.
Unfortunately, this was a much smaller dog than Sadie and her excitement must have startled them, because after they saw her they walked straight past her big, smiling face.

Sadie didn't understand why this puppy didn't want to be her friend. She sat down and pouted for awhile in sadness.
Sadie's mom hated seeing her like this, so she picked up a ball and started to play fetch with her instead!

Sadie loved playing with her mom, but she couldn't help feeling sad that no other dogs wanted to come play with her
