            DIGITAL LITERACY

   ☆What is Digital Literacy?

    Digital literacy refers to the ability to find, understand, analyze, produce and share information through network devices such as smartphones, tablets, laptops and computers. Digital literacy means having the skills you need to live, learn, and work in a society where communication and access to information is increasingly through digital technologies like internet platforms, social media, and mobile devices.

☆Examples of Digital Literacy

☆Understanding how to use web browsers, search engines, email, text, wiki, blogs, Photoshop, Powerpoint, video creation/editing software , etc. to showcase learning.

☆Evaluating online resources for accuracy/trustworthiness of information.

☆Using online classes to enhance learning in the classroom.

☆Choosing appropriate media to showcase learning - understand what platforms will best illustrate your message and learning to peers and educators.

☆Using an interactive whiteboard in the classroom for lessons and allowing students to use the interactive whiteboard on a daily basis.

     ☆ Why is Digital Literacy Important?

        Digital literacy enables the individual to research, question and benefit from different sources. It teaches us how to use the media. It allows us to be aware of it and to spread it correctly. Students who are building digital literacy skills understand the basics of ınternet safety such as creating strong passwords, understanding and using privacy settings, and knowing what to share or not on social media. Digital literacy is crucial to helping students become lifelong learners. It teaches them essential life skills as well as academic skills. They help students use critical thinking skills to evaluate the quality of digital sources and information, which in turn helps students communicate better.

Digital Rights and Responsibilities are defined as the Rights all digital citizens have such as free speech, the right to receive credit for work and the right to privacy
It is the responsibility of all digital citizens to respect these rights, report
violations of these rights and ensure technology is being used appropriately.
"With the right to discover knowledge comes the responsibility 

to behave well while doing so."

  The digital right is the freedom of an

individual to access, create or publish

media and information via electronic media.

Some rights that users should know in the

internet environment can be listed as follows:

Right to privacy protection
* The right not to violate personal rights
* Right to protect personal data
* The right to express an opinion on the Internet
* Right to participate in the management via the Internet
* Right to complain online
* Right not to be tainted on the Internet

   It is our responsibility to ensure that the information

and resources that we can leave to future

generations are available even after years.

Digital rights are merely an extension of the rights set out in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights by the United Nations as applied to the online world. Its main objective is to guarantee access to the Internet, avoiding the so-called digital divide, and a proper use of the network as a common asset belonging to the whole of humanity. ayşenn d - 12.05.2021 @ 15:19

Digital rights are basically human rights in the internet era.

Intellectual Property(IP) is the categorized representation of intangible things such as copyrights, patents, trademarks, unique concepts, and ideas. According to the rule of Intellectual Property, these intangible services should receive same legal protection just as the tangible property. What is Digital Security?

Digital technology is changing the way in which society is operating and the ways we live our lives. Everyday, there is new ways to work and to play, new methods of interacting with one another. As our digital footprint grows exponentially, we are forming our own online identities.

Digital security is the protection of this online identity. Criminals are finding new ways to operate and steal information from digital users for their own personal gain. Digital security is an all-encompassing term which includes the tools you can use to secure your identity, assets and technology in the online and mobile world.

These tools you can use to protect your identity include anti-virus software, web services, biometrics and secure personal devices you carry with you everyday. Devices such as a smart card-based USB token, the SIM card in your cell phone, the secure chip in your contactless payment card or an ePassport are digital security devices because they give you the freedom to communicate, travel, shop and work using your digital identity in a way that is convenient, enjoyable and secure.

What Does Data Protection Mean?

Data protection is the process of protecting data and involves the relationship between the collection and dissemination of data and technology, the public perception and expectation of privacy and the political and legal underpinnings surrounding that data. It aims to strike a balance between individual privacy rights while still allowing data to be used for business purposes.

Data protection is also known as data privacy or information privacy.

1. Don't click every link.

2.Protect your pc with the latest antivirus.

3.Do not allow software installations.

4.Keep your sharing under control.

If you want to protect your data,

1.Protect your personal data.

2.Don't use easy password.

3.Check your privacy and security settings.

4.Think before clicking on links.

5.Be careful about public wi-fi areas.

6.Be careful about your e-mails.
