It is estimated that each year an extension similar to the territory of Panama or Portugal disappears. 

Against this background, the effects of gases found in the air are more noticeable and can cause serious diseases for terrestrial species.

Consequences affects soil and water

Pollution to the environment affects water and soil, which means that more and more species are in danger of extinction. The water isn't  drinkable in a large number of places and the soil for sowing doesn't have the necessary nutrients.

which means that less and less can be cultivated and the number of crops for our sustenance is less and less.
