        Meet Caleb And His Friends

Hello Everyone, meet Caleb! Caleb is in 5th grade and has a mom, dad, and younger brother named Xavier. He loves to be outdoors and play football with his friends.  For him to be able to do all these things, Caleb’s body needs to work properly. That is why we will take a look inside Caleb and meet his friends., First, let's meet Pete, who lives in Caleb’s brain. Pete is a pituitary gland and is in charge of making sure Caleb’s body is working properly and that everything is in control. He is also in charge of controlling Greg, the growth hormone. Greg’s job is to control Caleb’s growth and make sure he is developing as he should. Pete and Greg work together to make sure Caleb is a healthy and growing child.

                What Went Wrong?

Caleb had always been a healthy and normal child, until his parents began to notice that he was way taller and bigger than his friends. They took him to the doctor, who noticed that Pete, Caleb’s pituitary gland was not feeling well, and could not do his job properly. He was not able to control Greg which  is why Greg then went out of control and caused Caleb to grow too much, which happens in the disorder known as gigantism. Now Caleb and his parents understood why he was growing so much so quickly.
