This book would not have been possible without the help and encouragement of my sister, Ridaa Dadani, my friend, Momina Mazhar, and of course my ISM teacher, Ms. Secord.

Hello Everyone, meet Ali! Ali is in 5th grade and is an only child with a cat that he loves to play with. Ali also loved to read, play games, and spend time with his friends. For him to be able to do all these things, Ali’s body needs to work properly. That is why we will take a look inside Ali and meet his friends. First, we have Dani, the DNA, who lives inside Ali’s cells and has all the information for how Ali’s body should work. Dani has 23 clones of herself, also known as chromosome pairs, each of these clones has different information about different parts of Ali's body. We will be focusing on the 12th clone, which is responsible for controlling Perri, who is a protein that controls cell growth and division. Cell division is what helps Ali’s body grow and develop.

Meet Ali and His Friends

Perri Is Out Of Control!!

Ali had always been a healthy child for pretty much most of his life. He was a little underweight as a child but the doctors did not think it was very serious, and he was fine. This was until recently when his parents began to notice that Ali had become very skinny, short, and was not eating properly. They took him to the doctor who did some tests and examined Ali. The doctor found that there was a problem with Dani’s 12th clone which is responsible for controlling Perri. Since Dani’s 12th clone could not do her job, Perri went out of control and did not do her job of controlling cell division and growth. Ali was told that this condition is called noonan syndrome, and this is why he was not growing and developing properly.
