This book is dedicated to my roommate Maeve for helping me deal with my OCD.

6 million people in the United States have OCD.
The big question is, where does OCD come from? Your environment? Your genetics?

OCD is unwanted thoughts or fears that cause repetitive behaviors.
OCD can come from your genetics, your family, or it can come because of your surroundings.

Some symptoms that you should be aware of :
Impulses
Unwanted thoughts
Needing things organized
Wanting to be clean all the time
Difficulty tolerating uncertainty

That was a very bad question. You are not smart!
OCD can develop because of mean comments that are always said to you!
People have said that emotional abuse is linked with OCD. This is your surroundings (environment).

Ouch, my head!
OCD can also be caused by brain injury.
Your head is very important and you should keep care of it!
A lot of people have found that after a brain injury, they have developed OCD.

Lastly, an example of how your environment can cause OCD is family size!

Many people have seen that people with few siblings (1-2) or a lot of siblings (>7) have a higher risk of developing OCD.
