Who was John Quincy Adams?Well, Quincy Adams was Born in Braintree Massachusetts July 11, 1767. John Quincy Adams was the 6th president. His father John Adams was the 2nd president, and the first vice president. Quincy Adams often had depression because of his father. John Adams was usually away and had high expectations for his son.

John Quincy adams was born into a wealthy family. As a child he watched the Battle of Bunker hill from Pens hill. He spent most of his early days reading chapters of the Bible.


His father went to europe and took Quincy Adams with him and he got some of the best education in europe.




When John Quincy Adams was 14 he became an assisting diplomat( A person who goes to a different country to represent their own country).

His education was very good. John Quincy Adams' Mother Abigail and father John would teach him Mathematics and languages. By the age of 14 he could speak 6+ different languages!


In 1785, John Quincy Adams enrolled for harvard as an advanced student. He attended to harvard for 2 years.


After college Adams studied law and became a lawyer. After becoming a lawyer he got admitted to a bar in Boston.


In 1797, John Quincy Adams got married to his wife Louisa Johnson at London's Tower Hill. John Quincy Adams' wife, Louisa Johnson was born in London.


Louisa Johnson was one of America's first ladies that was born outside of the united states. After the marriage John Quincy Adams then became an important diplomat.


While John Quincy Adams was a diplomat he served missions in France, Netherlands, and Britain. He was very short tempered so being a diplomat was a little rough.



As a diplomat Adams got sent to Belgium and he made the treaty of Ghent which miraculously ended the war of 1812!



In 1803 John Quincy Adams became a senator. After he returned home from a mission in Prussia he won election of Massachusetts state legislature.


John Quincy Adams was on track for reaching his father's high expectations while being very successful at such a young age.



John Quincy Adams was chosen to be secretary of state by Madison Monroe due to his diplomatic skills.



After he became secretary of state he helped President Monroe with lots of important paperwork and agreements.
Adams would be very helpful as secretary of state and this would make it a lot easier to become president.
One of these agreements was called the Adams-Onis agreement, this made it so that the United States and Spain could agree on what land each of them owned.


The United States and Spain both lost land in this agreement that they wanted but they both felt that it was fair.
He also slowed down the United States in talking to new countries that use to be a part of Spain because he did not want Spain to be mad at them, have you had to do something so a friend would not get mad?
