Evyn is a 13-year-old and she still talks to her dead
mother. She has brown hair, tall, and has a big
family. Right now her dad, brother, and herself live
in Maine, but then they move to Boston.

The main conflict in the story is that Evyn and
her brother have to move to Boston because
their dad is getting married. Evyn doesn’t want
to move away from her friends.

Some of the events that happen before the climax are
that Birdie is getting married and he just announced it
to Evyn and Mackey at dinner. Then they move to
Boston to live with Eleni, who is getting married to
Birdie. Third they go to Ajax’s soccer game and Evyn
gets hit in the face by the ball. Fourth Clam dies (their
dog) and they have a funeral for him. They bury him in
the backyard.Evyn finally gets closer with Eleni. Last
Evyn’s best friend Jules comes and they all go see
Mackey perform in a play.

In the book Bounce, the climax of the story occurs
when Clam is laying underneath a bush. Evyn goes
outside to pet him, but he is under the bush. At
first she thought he was just laying there, but he
wasn’t breathing. He was dead. That is when the
climax occurs in the book.

The main character Evyn, in the book Bounce, is brought to
life in many ways through characterization. First she
expresses her feelings very well. She is honest to people and
she changes towards the end of the book. Last she becomes
closer with her brother and her new family. In conclusion, the
main character Evyn, in the book Bounce, shows who she is in
many ways through characterization.

The theme of the book is to be grateful for what you have
and for what you get. One reason is she wants her dad to be
happy, but doesn’t want to change her life. She should be
grateful that she has a dad and now a mom. She also has a
big family and she can get to know them.

In the book Bounce, there are many examples of figurative
language. One example is at the part where Evyn says the
squeals are ear-piercing. Another example is where
someone asks, It really wasn’t a bear was it? In conclusion
those are some examples of figurative language.
