"Cockadoodle Doo! Rise and shine everyone," crowed Ronald. Ronald the Rooster loves his job on the farm. His job is the most important. He wakes everyone up each morning. Without him nothing would get done.
Ronald has the same routine every day. Wake up, watch the sun rise, and crow until everyone else is awake.
One day though something startled Ronald in his sleep. DING DING DING DING. Ronald sat up on his perch, "What in the world is that noise?," he asked. He hopped down from his cozy perch and made his way to the Farmer's house.

He went up the farmer's bedroom window where the sound was coming from. The loud racket came to a quick halt as the farmer rose out of bed. Ronald could not believe his eyes, the farmer was awake before Ronald even had the chance to crow!

The farmer got ready and headed to town. Meanwhile, Ronald snuck into the bedroom to see for himself just what made that awful racket. He climbed through the window, hopped onto the bed and jumped on the table where the noise machine sat. The mysterious machine was not making any noise now, so Ronald went on with his day.

The next morning, Ronald woke up and waited for the sunrise. As Ronald got ready to crow his biggest crow the DING DING stopped him. The farmer got up and started his chores on the farm and so did everyone else.

Bessy the cow walked to the barn to get milked, the hens started laying eggs, even the frogs on the pond had those pesky flies to get rid of. But what would Ronald do?
