One day in school, Matt sees on the bulletin board:

So many possibilities! He thinks, imagining all the different acts he could try. A dance, a magic show…

I know! I'll play a song!

The winner will receive a medal!

Even better! We can win a prize!

Tim, Matt's friend, was finishing his homework after school that day when Matt knocked on his door.

“Let’s play a song for the talent show! It’s in a week, and we could win a prize! You can borrow my guitar, and-”

Tim was already nervous. He wanted to help his friend, but performing on a stage scared him, and he had never played in front of a crowd.

"Don't worry! If we practice enough, we can win!"

So, Tim trusted Matt, and they began rehearsing.

At first, it was difficult. They couldn’t stay on beat or play the right chords.

"It's like we'll never get any better!"

"It's only been a day, and we will become better each time, trust me!"
