On a nice sunny day in a small village lived Charlotte.

And when the sun was out, Charlotte would always be out too.

Charlotte loved to dance around outside, and especially loved dancing through the woods.

Especially if she had her favorite toy mermaid with her!

Charlotte thought her toy mermaid was so beautiful, she often wished she could be just as beautiful and look just like her.

On one especially sunny day, Charlotte ran and danced through the woods until she came upon the seashore.

Charlotte stopped and looked around and saw a mermaid waving to her from the water. A real life mermaid!

Hi!

Charlotte thought she was dreaming but decided to wave back to the mermaid anyway.

After realizing this was real, Charlotte grew very excited. This mermaid looked just like her doll, maybe even prettier!

As the mermaid got closer, she began speaking to Charlotte.

"Hello, what is your name?" The mermaid asked. "My name is Charlotte!" Charlotte said back excitedly.

"It's nice to meet you Charlotte" The mermaid said back nicely, "I like your doll there."

Charlotte smiled even brighter, raising her doll up to the mermaid, "It looks just like you!" she said.

The mermaid realized that Charlotte was frowning a bit, deciding to ask her what was wrong. 

"I think you and my doll are so pretty, I wish I looked like you," Charlotte said.
