Hi, I'm Peter, and I'm going to show you around my Mesopotamian civilization.

During the development of cities, they built Ziggurats. This is one kind of infrastructure they had back then. This is where the people believed that the god of their city lived.

 They believed in polytheism, which means they believed in multiple gods. This was their religion.

Our system of writing is cuneiform. This is one of the characteristics of their culture that they had back then. My name, (Peter), is written in cuneiform below:

This is our ruler, Hammurabi. He ruled through Theocracy, a kind of government where priests rule in the name of their god. Hammurabi had a set of 282 laws called Hammurabi's Code. Another kind of government is a monarchy, where kings and queens rule.

One of the main social structures for the society was a social hierarchy. This basically showed the social status for the people in Mesopotamia.
