Carbohydrates,proteins and fats - Milana
Vitamins,Minerals,water - Elene

Nutrients are essential substances that the body needs to function properly. These compounds provide energy, support growth and development, and help maintain overall health. There are several types of nutrients, each playing specific roles in the body. The main categories of nutrients include carbohydrates, proteins, fats, vitamins, minerals, and water.

Carbohydrates :
Carbohydrates are essential organic compounds composed of carbon, hydrogen, and oxygen, and they serve as a primary source of energy for the human body. Found in various foods such as grains, fruits, vegetables, and legumes, carbohydrates come in two main forms: simple carbohydrates, including sugars like glucose and sucrose, and complex carbohydrates, such as starch and fiber. Carbohydrates play a crucial role in fueling bodily functions, particularly providing energy for the brain and muscles. While they are a vital part of a balanced diet, it's important to choose complex carbohydrates from whole, unprocessed foods for sustained energy and overall health.
Proteins :
Proteins are crucial molecules in the human body, composed of amino acids. They play a fundamental role in various biological processes, serving as building blocks for tissues, muscles, enzymes, and hormones. Proteins contribute to the growth, repair, and maintenance of cells, and they are essential for the proper functioning of the immune system. Dietary sources of proteins include meat, fish, eggs, dairy products, legumes, and nuts. During digestion, proteins are broken down into amino acids, which the body then uses to build and repair tissues. A balanced diet with an adequate intake of protein is important for overall health and development.

Fats :
Balancing the intake of different types of fats is important for maintaining good health. While fats are a concentrated energy source, it's advisable to choose sources that are rich in unsaturated fats, such as avocados, olive oil, and nuts, and limit the consumption of foods high in saturated and trans fats. This balance is vital for overall well-being, including heart health.

Vitamins :
Vitamins are nutrients that our bodies need to develop and function normally. They are needed in only small amounts, but if you don't eat them you can get ill.
There are lots of different kinds of vitamin. Each kind is given a letter. We have vitamin A, vitamin B, vitamin C and vitamin D.

Vitamin A:
Vitamin A is needed to help your eyes to work well, so that your vision is good. It's particularly important for helping us to see when it's quite dark. People who don't have enough vitamin A may not be able to see anything at night. It also helps WBC to help pathogens.
You can eat vitamin A by eating green vegetables, carrots, squash(e.g pumpkin), fruit, foods made from milk and some kinds of fish.

Vitamin B:
Vitamin B is divided into different groups. Some B-group vitamins are needed to help the body to use the energy-yielding nutrients (such as carbohydrates, fat and protein) for fuel. Other B-group vitamins are needed to help cells to multiply by making new DNA. The foods containing the vitamin are: meat, seeds, herbs, vegetables, liver, rice, egg yolks, fruit.
