Organel
Fortress
The children: Why is this fortress called Organel?
The children: It is the same as the Golgi apparatus that sorts proteins to various cellular destinations,
processes and stores the proteins and lipids that "flow" from the Endoplasmic Reticulum.
Mr. Organel: That's right. Let's move on.
Mr. Organel: This is Mitocentrala, our power plant. Here we produce the energy for the whole city.
The children: I know that mitochondria play a role in cellular respiration. Breathing produces the energy needed by organisms, and this energy is stored in ATP molecules.
Mr. Organel: That's right. You guessed it! Let's move on.
Mr. Organel: Here we are at the Center that deals with the cleanliness of the fortress. All the debris and objects that we no longer need or that harm the fortress are destroyed here.
The children: As in the Lysosome which deals with the destruction of foreign bodies, cell fragments or old. In fact, they are digestive organs of the cell
Mr. Organel: That's right. You guessed it! Let's move on.
