Chapter 1: Division Of Polynomials

As Doug the dog looked out the window, he began to think,
"how do i use polynomials to divide". Lucky for Doug he
remembered his teacher taught him two methods that could
help him divide, long division and synthetic division. He
thought, "I should do some problems, maybe it will help me"

"Long Division" Doug thought. "Maybe I will try some
problems. Oh no I ate my notes, what am I going to do?"
"Doug, remember" his teachers voice popped into his head.
"The first step is to divide. The second step is to multiply
(don't forget to distribute). The Third step is to carry down.
Then you repeat. Good luck Doug."

"Synthetic Division" Doug thought, "I remember
that my teacher said synthetic division is a shortcut.
Long division always work, but there are some cases
where synthetic works better. I don't quite remember
the steps. I am going to ask my teacher." Doug's
teacher replied, "Here, Doug. Try this problem. It
works great with synthetic division."

Chapter 2: Factoring Patterns

Zell the alien was left by his spaceship and
tried to give a signal to his group. He used
his ray gun but nobody came. He
remembered that his group told him if he
needed to call someone, he has to factor
polynomials

Louie the boy saw Zell at the park
and asked him what was wrong with him.

Zell said " I don't remember how to factor polynomials"
Louie told him, " I can teach you how to factor and
factoring by the sum or the difference of cubes"

Louie told Zell "factoring by grouping
in quadratic equation is when you use
the "ac' method where you take both
coefficients, "a" and "c" and combine
them. A,B, and C are just numbers.So then
you group the pairs with multiplication,
but they both have equal "b". Rewrite
the equation with both "a" plus "c"
replacing "b", then remove the common
factor and rewrite as grouped factors

Louie began to tell Zell " if your factoring the sum or
difference of cubes, first in the equation you have to take
the cube root that equal the product "X" and "Y" and put
the roots in parenthesis into binomials. Next you square
both roots and put that in parenthesis. Then multiply the roots
as the middle term in the equation. Last you put the signs
back in using the "SOAP" method, keep the first sign, make
the second sign opposite of the first, and always make the third
sign positive.
