Franklin Delano Roosevelt created the New Deal 

to try and solve the problems of the Great 

Depression. The New Deal focuses on relief for 

the needy, economic recovery, and financial 

reform.

The Second Hundred Days was a second 

activity from the New Deal. FDR wanted more 

relief for farmers and workers.

As part of the Second New Deal, they set up 

the Works Progress Administration (WPA). The 

WPA sets out to create as many jobs as quickly 

as possible.

The Social Security Act was created to have 

insurance for retirees 65 or older and their 

spouses, and unemployment compensation 

system, and aid to families with dependent 

children and people with disabilities.

Eleanor Roosevelt was Franklin Roosevelt's 

wife, reminded her husband of the suffering of 

the nation's people.

The Wagner Act prohibited unfair labor 

practices such as threatening workers.

The United States Housing Authority was 

created to provide federal loans for low-cost 

public housing.
