I am excited to tell you all about the jobs of a
computer! Computers like myself and many of my
friends will gather pictures, words and sounds,
which is called data, and put them into order. We
do this by taking all this data through devices that
we call input devices. A computer cannot do
anything without input from something like
another computer or a person.

These are some input devices.

This is called a processor. It sits on a
motherboard. The motherboard is the brain and
heart of the computer.

The Motherboard
This information is translated or processed her
into the language that computers read or speak.

Binary is the language
of computers which
represents the pictures,
words, and other
instructions broken
down mathematically into
a series of 1's and 0's. Once the data is processed
into these two binary digits, the
computer is able to process the data.

Once the information has been
processed, the computer must
translate the data into a way that
means something to you as the user.
Pictures, sounds, letters and numbers are
displayed in several different output devices.

Output devices such as monitors
and printers display images and text
documents. Sound output is translated
to the user through speakers and
headphones.

When all the data has been processed into
useful information, it is a good idea to save
it in case the user needs to access it for a
future use. Storage devices may include
external hard drives which use SSD cards
or memory cards. USB devices are referred
to as flash drives and are popular because
it is universal and portable. Optical drives
use DVD's and CD's as their storage
media.

Pictures, text, and other data are input which
is sent to the processor where the computer's
brain translates this data into binary digits.
The data is then processed and is displayed on
output devices or is saved on storage media to be
used at a future time.

I hope you had as much fun as
I did talking about the
important functions of a
computer! Thanks for
spending time with me!
