Once upon a time, there was a beautiful princess named Rose, who lived an enchanted life. For the last 17 years of her life she lived in a beautiful palace, and had people wait on her every request. She didn't have a care in the world.

One morning, her father, King Lawrence, called Rose in to see him.

"Daughter, I have exciting news for you! You're going to have the great honor of marrying the crown prince of France, Francis. The marriage will be taking place in a month. I love you, and this marriage will create a great alliance between England and France."

"Father, I don't understand. I'm scared. I don't know what to do, I don't want to leave you and mama, for I'll never see you again!" cried Rose.

"Don't be silly my daughter, you don't have to think. You will be married in 30 days." declared King Lawrence.

Rose went off. She felt numb and scared. Salty tears welled in her eyes. Rose quickly wiped them away because she didn't have time for that. She had to go lie down.

She decided that she should take a bath to relax. As she was sitting in the tub, trying to relax, she started to have some worries. What if I don't like France? What if Francis doesn't like me? Will I have a husband or a tyrant? What will the people think? Will I have any wants or needs or will I be taken care of? What's the weather like in France?

That night, Rose tossed and turned. She didn't get any good sleep. Rose woke up very early, before the sun was even up.

She said a prayer for peace, and went for a walk. As she walked around the gardens, she realized that she now had to start the wedding planning process. She had to find a dress, figure out the menu, get a cake, and complete all of the things that needed to be planned.

She went and found her mama and asked her, "Mama, I need to go find a dress if I am indeed to marry Francis. We need to go to the dressmaker and have the most extravagant dress made. I want to look and feel beautiful even though I know I'll be terrified."
