Tristan walked up to WesterBrook High's front door. He turned around and waved to his parents as they drove away at last.
2

He went through the front doors and started his first day of school.

3

Tristan had just moved from Utah to Virginia.
4

Tristan was a pretty short kid. He wasn't scrawny, but he wasn't strong either.
5

A lot of people looked down on him because of his size. But what they didn't know was he was incredibly fast. He never bragged though.
6

This was his junior year of high school, and he was nervous starting here. He only missed one week of school, but it was enough for everyone to else to get to know each other.
7

Tristan headed to his first period class. As he was walking up to his P.E. class, Tristan saw a poster for football tryouts. Tristan loved football.
8

He played it a lot in Utah, and it would be a great place to make some new friends. He decided to tryout after school.
9

Throughout the whole day Tristan was swamped with work. Who would have thought that 11th grade was so hard at week one?

10

Science was Tristan's last period. This class was the hardest of all.
11

After the bell rang, Mr.SmrtyGrl had him stay a little later for some extra help.
12

Before he knew it, the after school had ended and he was about to miss football tryouts. He rushed over to the football field.
13

When Tristan got there, everyone was starting to leave. The coach yelled, “Great tryouts everyone! I'll tell you the results on Friday!”
14

Tristan hurriedly ran over to the coach and said, “ Hey coach! Sorry, I had to stay after and I missed tryouts. Can you somehow put me on the team?” The coach took one look at him and instantly didn't think he would be good
15

But he had never seen this kid before. He thought he was the new kid, so he didn't want to be mean. He said, “ You know what, I'm going to let you be on the varsity team. You might not get much playing time because you're new this year, but it will still be fun!”
16

The coach thought he was being nice, while still keeping him from playing on his team. But Tristan realized it right away. He said nothing though and walked away.
17

Throughout the whole season Tristan just sat on the bench. Even in practice The coach had him do nothing.
18

But Tristan still practiced on his own. He would be amazing when his coach put him in. Then he would play in all the games.
19

But the coach never put him in. The team did really good though. They had managed to get to the championship in their league.
20

At the championship game, Tristan sat on the bench. He looked with envy at the other players on the field.
