There once was a badger named Beau, who lived by a channel. He loved to run around and play with his furry friends.

One day, Beau was walking home from Badger School and saw trash in a tributary. Beau decided to pick it up and throw it away once he got home.

When Beau got home, his parents asked why he was carrying around trash. Beau told them what had happened. His parents praised him and told him that he was showing good stewardship.,

Beau asked, " Daddy, why would there be trash in the water?" His dad answered by telling him that the trash in the water is called pollution. Then Beau asked, "Where would it have come from?"

 His dad said: "there are two different kinds of pollution, point source and non-point source. Point source pollution means that it comes from one site. Non-point source pollution means it comes from many different sites. The trash you picked up was point-source pollution. It probably came from someone's trash can".

After learning about pollution, Beau decided from that point forward, he would always  pick up trash when he sees it.
