Everybody has little things inside our body called cells. There are billions of cells inside the body all helping to keep the body going.

Cells are a lot like a city, and different cells have different parts. Our Cells are like the city Boston.

Human cells are made up of the endoplasmic reticulum, the ribosomes, the nucleus, the cytoplasm, the mitochondria, the lysosomes, cell membrane, and vacuoles. These are called organelles.

First organelle is the ribosome, the ribosome is like a mini-person of a cell. Ribosomes help a cell or a city by moving proteins around. Proteins are small things that help build up muscle, and give us a lot of energy to help us do things.

The next organelle is the endoplasmic reticulum or ER. The ER is like Fenway park, ribosomes or "the people" of the cell go to the ER. The ER is made of two places the rough ER where all the ribosomes or people gather and the smooth ER are where the players play

The nucleus or brain of the cell is like city hall or the place where the city is told what to do. The nucleus controls the cell and tells other things to do what it needs to do.
