This book was made to inspire young children to get into STEM and to encourage them to have the desire to solve all of the Grand Challenges of Engineering, particularly providing access to clean water.

There was once a boy named Abeeku. Abeeku lived in a country named Ethiopia with his two sisters and his parents.
He also has a good friend named Jacob. Abeeku played a lot with Jacob. They would play soccer every morning.

Abeeku's life is very different from ours. Abeeku lives in Ethiopia, which is a very dry place.
Since Abeeku lives in a dry place, he spends a lot of his time collecting water for his family.
In fact, Abeeku is just one person of the 85% of the world population that lives in the driest half of the planet.

Sadly, Abeeku does not have easy access to water in his house. He does not have a sink, tub, or a bathroom like you do.
It's not just him. Two billion people just like Abeeku don't have proper cleaning items, like toilets and bathtubs.

Remember To wake up at 3 am on Wednesdays and to take a shower at the village center while the water is still there !!!

Abeeku wants to go to school so he can learn and play with his friends.
However, he goes to school for only three hours because his school doesn't have safe water to drink from.
Actually, not only does his school not have safe water, but one in every three schools all around the world don't either.
