Grace was excited for her first day of the new year at school. However, her first day would be a little different from yours.

You see, Grace was the daughter of the King and Queen of the Kingdom Gilder, and that made her a princess.

She woke up and put on her favorite dress for Toor Academy, a place where young girls could go and learn to be future leaders of their villages.

"I love Toor Academy because girls will become great leaders!" said her father King William.

Grace ate her breakfast and hopped on her trusty horse Gerald.
Once Grace was gone, King William got some BAD news!

"Sir, another king named Stephen wants to take over Gilder!" said one of William's knights.

King Stephen thought that a school for girls was a TERRIBLE idea! Girls should be locked up in towers instead!

Welcome Back Girls!

Meanwhile, Grace loved her first day of school and played with her friends.
She was so excited because she got to plan the back to school ball that the whole kingdom went to.

When Grace got home, she played with her pet bird Kiwi, did her homework, and then went to dinner.

Her parents told her about King Stephen, which made her angry, and she knew that she needed to fight for her school.

A week went by and the ball was close. Grace and her friends got dressed up in their prettiest dresses and did their makeup!

When they entered the ballroom, people were having
so much fun!

Oh No!

Grace and her friends were dancing until someone stormed in!

Everyone ran to the sides of the room in fear.
It was King Stephen and his guards.

Stephen started to tell them the new rules they would have to follow since he was now their king.

Welcome back!

Welcome to the Back to School Ball!
"Everyone needs to follow me! That means no school for girls!" said King Stephen

Grace went to school the next day, and she saw that many people were not there. The more days that passed, the more she realized people had started to go missing.

She started writing letters about the horrible things that were happening.
She used Kiwi to deliver the messages all over the kingdom.

Grace sent the notes everyday. One day, when she was walking to school with her friends, they were kidnapped by Stephen's guards, thrown into a carriage, and taken to a very tall tower.
