Dedicated to Marcus Mosiah Garvey.

One day in 1887, Marcus Sr. and his wife Sarah had their 11th child. They named him Marcus.



Marcus and his family lived in the town Saint Ann’s Bay which is in the country of Jamaica.
Marcus goes to a local elementary school and takes the bus every day. Marcus loves to learn math and hang out with his friends at school.





At school Marcus is treated unfairly because of the color of his skin. This confuses Marcus and makes him unhappy.
Today Marcus took his first spelling test. He got every question correct and had the best score in his class!








In gym class on Friday Marcus and his class played soccer. Soccer has always been his favorite sport since he was little.






Today was the first day of middle school. Marcus made a new friend named Billy.


Marcus and Billy quickly become best friends. Billy is confused that he and Marcus are not allowed to drink from the same water fountain or use the same restroom.
