Hi
This is dedicated to Mr. Richard

Today we'll be learning about mitosis and its phases.

That sounds awesome!
There are several phases of mitosis interphase prophase, metaphase, anaphase, telophase, and cytokinesis.

Wow! Cool!

Interphase goes on for the longest time out of all phases. During this phase the cell carries out normal life activities.

Really?
During prophase the chromatin becomes visible with a microscope. Chromosomes are made by two chromatids and a centromere. The membrane then breaks down.

I want to be a scientist.
During metaphase chromosomes line up in the middle of the cell. The chromosomes are hooked up by a spindle.
Can I tell my friends?

The spindles are important without them the cell wouldn't be able to split.
Can the cell make new cells?

We'll get to that soon.
During anaphase the chromatids separate. They are pulled to opposite sides of the cell. Each side of the cell ends up with the same amount of chromosomes.
Cool!
